The New Year Is a Lot Like the End of a Ceremony đ (How to Use it Intentionally)
The start of the year has a lot in common with the end of a ceremony or a retreat.
Momentum has been generated.
Without leaving the comfort of your home, there is a blank-page-and-everything-is-possible-energy in the air.
If last year was a masterpiece, nowâs a great time to build on that momentum and take it to the next level.
If last year wasnât this great, you get a whole new chance to start anew. In fact, you get to say because of that [mess]⌠you drew a line on the sand and said not another year, Iâm gonna do this NOW!
But momentum doesnât last.
The thing with momentum is that itâs impossible to change without it, but extremely hard to regenerate it on your own once it died out.
[â To read more on that, read: Pattern Interrupts vs. Lasting Transformation: The Neuroscience of Integration]
Like the afterglow post- journey, or the high-on-life feeling after a meditation retreat, if you donât entrap yourself in structures that will keep you in the breakthrough, your system will return to its old baseline within 2â4 weeks.
Thatâs where integration comes in: the bridge between âI want to think and feel this way foreverâ and the grounded system and accountability that turns this into a reality. Aka, your new normal!
And since integration happens to be the very thing Iâm obsessed with, trained in, live by, and 90% of what I coach others on, here are a few grounded questions for you:
What are some micro-commitments you can make to set the table for the rest of 2026?
Whatâs one area of your life, that if improved, would have a positive impact on many other areas of life?
đ§ This might be devoting yourself to your meditation practice, because the more you stay rooted in your centre, the more unfuckwithable you are for the rest of your day
[â In which case, I highly recommend watching How to Meditate (Even If Youâve Failed Before)]
đď¸You might want to start working out. Because thereâs something about being able to lift heavier and heavier sh*t that feels hot and youâre more interested in how you feel than how others see you at this point.
đ It might be spending time with that one supportive human who leaves you believing in yourself and doing the damn thing after you talk.
â How much nonsense, self-pity, and procrastination would disappear from your life if you had that interaction every week?
A few reminders for the road:
#1
This year does not have to start with a grand declaration that youâll change everything about your life.
In fact, many people try to change too much all at once and end up giving up within the month.
Change starts with realising that what youâre capable of and what you have in this 3D reality is not a match! And that bugs you!
It's also about realising that truly, you donât have to live the rest of your life the way you lived âtil now.
â Before my bachelorâs degree, my university offered a foundational year, a year for those who felt they needed time to prepare before Year 1. Whether youâre 40, 60, or 22⌠if youâre feeling like thereâs more for you out there, itâs because there is. Youâre not crazy. The calling starts when one is ready.
So whatever your age or circumstances, see everything up until now as your foundational year, the preparation you needed to truly begin living! And may this be your Year 1.
#2
Like most of us, you probably oscillate between moments where you canât wait to say âwatch meâ to everyone who saw you as mediocre, and moments where you doubt youâre ever gonna change.
The latter usually ends in âIâll start tomorrow.â
Because if you actually believed youâd change, youâd do it now.
â If I told you the shop down the street had a lottery ticket youâd already won, one that lets you retire, make your art, deepen your spiritual practice, or build whatever lights your soul on fire, you wouldnât go tomorrowâŚYouâd run there NOW!
đŚ Why would you start living an extraordinary life any later?
While weâre still at the very beginning of the year, take advantage of this opportunity to entrap yourself in the things you know will move the needle forward.
That might look like:
A membership or group container where youâre seen regularly, not just inspired occasionally
A group program that comes with built-in accountability, mentorship or coaching
Pre-scheduled calls on your calendar (weeks or months ahead) that you canât negotiate away when motivation dips
A consistent community of people who are also choosing expansion over comfort, so âstaying the sameâ stops being the norm
Clear rhythms and practices (weekly calls, reflections, embodiment practices) that keep insights alive long after the initial breakthrough
External reminders (emails, messages, calls) that gently pull you back when you drift
Motivation is like showering, it doesn't last, that's why we recommend it daily.
â Zig Ziglar
At the beginning of the year, motivation is unusually high, and you need that not to hope it'll last you til June, but to commit to the structures that will carry you forward later, when motivation inevitably dips.
And if your mission for everything you want to achieve this year and the version of you you know is possible feels too big to carry alone, you might choose to share the load by doing it alongside me. The Incubator is a holistic 6-month integration program where you learn the mindset, somatic and energetic tools for staying in expansion post-awakening, overcoming the little self that keeps getting in the way, and dare to share your life's calling in a way that makes the world a better place đŚ
Itâs a whole retreat in your own home!
We work on the whole human, carry you through your seasons from excitement to doubt and self-sabotage, and show you who you can become when instead of relying on temporary motivation, you rely on:
the âpositively brainwashingâ calls đ on your calendar that keep re-inspiring you about all aspects of life post-breakthrough,
the like-minded community who normalises being non-negotiable about their dreams,
hands-on coaching support by 2 expert integration coaches (myself and the amazing breathwork and sound facilitator, Roxy Medina!)
and a container designed to move you through the blocks that have kept you stuck, while training your nervous system into lasting expansion đ.
New Year energy is a rare window we only get once a year. Whether you choose The Incubator or another path, set your life up in a way where growth becomes unavoidable!
Consistency > intensity. Every time.
Forget 80% overnight or nothing.
Think 5% per week.
